The book I’m reading at the moment is called “Words That Work: It’s Not What you Say, It’s What People Hear” Dr. Frank Luntz which speaks about the best way to apply language in any given situation to be most effective. Martin Luther King’s “I have a dream”… Aaron Sorkin:

“The greatest speech of all this is ‘I Have a Dream’. You read the speech and it’s perfect. Listen to the speech, it gets more perfect. The way as the speech moved on, the phrase ‘I have a dream’ stopped being the beginning of each stanza and began being the end, ‘That one day, we will be judged not by the colour of our skin, by the content of our charter, I have a dream. ‘That’s what jazz musicians do. They take a phrase and they move it. It was phenomenal delivery”

One thing that it touches on are 10 rules for effective communication, in all things.

Which makes me wonder about Personal Branding. What is the current Steven Hann brand? What do I want the brand to be in the future?

I have these moments where I catch myself having a thought and I get almost that surreal sense of deja vu, it’s almost as if the gears in my mind click into place and then BAM the fog clears and I know that it’s my intuition working.

I’m reading a couple of books at the moment, and I just realized that the things that I read and that I learn are used best when I think about what it teaches me, and how I can apply that knowledge to reach my goals sooner.

Somewhere along the way I forgot about. Read. Learn. Apply. Change. Create.

Looking back I know that sometimes I’ve increased my knowledge, but I’ve done it in a short-sighted sense, only to pick and choose what is there to be able to defend my current point of view, or what I believe to be true.

Makes more sense to read, learn, objectively critique and then apply to my life.
